CCTV Drain Surveys In Derby
A CCTV drain survey in Derby shows what's happening inside your pipes without digging. We survey homes and businesses across DE1, DE3, DE21–DE24, DE65, DE72 and DE73, recording every accessible run. You get WRc/MSCC5-coded condition grading, a PDF condition report, the survey footage and stills, and a map of your drain runs. Surveys start from £149 + VAT, and our engineers are about 55 minutes from our Southwell base.

Buying a home in Derby? A pre-purchase survey tells you whether the drains are sound before you exchange — particularly worthwhile on older properties with clay pipes, homes with mature trees nearby, or houses that have been extended. See our homebuyer drain surveys.
Planning an extension in Derby? If you're building within 3 metres of a public sewer, Severn Trent may require a build-over agreement, and a CCTV survey of the sewer is usually part of a formal application. We can survey the pipe before you finalise your plans.
What We Know About Derby
Derby has sixteen conservation areas, from Friar Gate and the Arboretum to Strutts Park, Hartington Street and the Railway area. Many of their houses date from the Victorian era or earlier, and few come with a drainage plan. Every CCTV survey we carry out includes WRc/MSCC5-coded condition grading for each defect, a PDF condition report, the recorded footage and stills, and drain mapping: a plan of your drain runs showing where each one goes and where it joins the next.
The map has another use in Derby. Severn Trent charges for surface water drainage unless all of the rainwater from your roof, drive and paths drains somewhere other than the public sewer, and it asks for evidence such as photographs or drainage plans. A mapped survey shows where your downpipes and yard gullies actually discharge, which is often not where people assume.
Surveys also pick up misconnections. The council's investigation into the July 2014 storm in Oakwood recorded foul water flooding that may have come from surface water getting into the foul system through misconnected pipes. A camera run shows which system each pipe feeds. Surveys start from £149 + VAT.
