Accessibility Statement

Anyone should be able to get drainage help from our website. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA. If the site doesn’t work for you, call or email us instead.

1.Our commitment

Anyone should be able to look things up, get a quote and book a drainage engineer on this site. That includes people using a screen reader, keyboard, voice control, screen magnifier or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

2.What we’ve done

  • Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists, so they make sense in a screen reader.
  • You can reach and use everything with a keyboard. There’s a visible focus outline.
  • Text and buttons are built to meet AA colour-contrast levels. The site still works with text enlarged to 200%.
  • Every form field has a label and required fields are marked. Errors are explained in words, not just colour, and read out by assistive technology.
  • Images that carry information have text alternatives. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off.
  • Buttons and links are big enough to tap on a phone, and you can tap a phone number to call it.
  • You don’t need the maps. Our service area and contact details are always there as text.
  • Accordions, menus and pop-ups say whether they’re open or closed.

3.Known limitations

Some parts of the site may not be fully accessible yet:

  • CCTV survey reports are PDFs made by specialist reporting software, and they may not work perfectly with screen readers. We’re happy to talk you through any report, or send the findings in another format.
  • Google Maps embeds and Google reCAPTCHA come from Google, and we can’t control all of their accessibility. You can always call or email us instead of using a form.
  • Videos may not have captions or transcripts yet. We’re adding them as we publish new content.
  • Some guides have tables that are easier to read on a bigger screen. On small phones they scroll sideways.

Found a problem that isn’t on this list? Please tell us and we’ll fix it.

4.Other ways to contact us

If anything on the website is hard to use, get in touch directly:

We can take your booking over the phone, send information in large print or plain text, call instead of texting (or text instead of calling), and give you extra time at the door. Just tell us what works for you. We’ll note it on your account so you don’t have to say it again.

5.Feedback

Tell us about any accessibility problem by phone or email. Include the page address and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days and fix problems as fast as we can. Not happy with our response? See our complaints procedure. You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

6.How we checked this website

We wrote this statement on 17 September 2026, when the website was rebuilt. It is based on a self-assessment using automated testing tools and manual checks with a keyboard and screen reader on desktop and mobile. We review it at least once a year, and whenever we make big changes to the site.
