Drain Repairs In Derby

Drain & Sewer Repairs In Derby
We repair cracked, displaced and collapsed drains in Derby (DE1, DE3, DE21–DE24, DE65, DE72, DE73), using no-dig patch repairs and relining wherever possible and excavation only when a pipe has failed completely. Every repair is based on a CCTV survey, quoted in writing first and backed by our 12-month guarantee — and our engineers are about 55 minutes from our Southwell base.
Drain Repairs in Derby from £250 + VAT
This is our starting price. The final price depends on the job — access, depth and what we find on site — and we always confirm a fixed price before any work starts. No call-out fee. Call 07300 600 950 for a quote.
Before we quote, we confirm who owns the pipe. Shared and lateral drains in Derby are normally Severn Trent Water's responsibility, so we won't ask you to pay for a repair that isn't yours. If the damaged section is yours, many buildings insurance policies cover accidental damage to underground pipes, and our report and photos support a claim — speak to your insurer before work starts.
Relining avoids digging up drives, patios and gardens, and suits pipes that are cracked, leaking or root-damaged but still broadly in shape. Where a pipe has collapsed, our groundworks team excavates, replaces the section and reinstates the ground. Find out more about no-dig drain relining.
What We Know About Derby
Most of the city sits on mudstone, according to the geology section of Derby's December 2025 flood risk study. Above the mudstone, much of the ground is sand and gravel from old river terraces such as the Allenton terrace deposits, with alluvium along the valley floors. The soils are mainly loamy and clayey, with impeded drainage. Pipes laid in that mix don't all behave the same way, which is why we survey before we quote.
Groundwater is the less obvious problem. The study's groundwater emergence mapping puts Markeaton and New Zealand, along the Markeaton Brook, among the areas most at risk, together with Alvaston, Boulton, Crewton and Wilmorton. Where the water table is high, a cracked pipe or open joint leaks both ways. Waste gets out, groundwater gets in, and the report names groundwater leaking into sewer pipes as one cause of sewer flooding.
Our Derby repairs follow the footage. A single open joint usually takes a patch liner, a run with several defects a full-length liner, and only a collapsed pipe needs digging out. Drain repairs start from £250 + VAT, and we record the pipe again once the work is done.
