On 24 September 2019, 28mm of rain fell on Kimberley in three hours and seven businesses on and near Main Street flooded inside, Nottinghamshire County Council's investigation found. Water ran down the side streets into Main Street and pooled at the low point on Eastwood Road, and manholes lifted in rear gardens as smaller drains struggled to cope.
